OpenOffice.org 'Writer' helps you to create documents, similar to Microsoft Word, and save them in several formats such as Microsoft Word, HTML, Adobe PDF. OpenOffice.org offers a suite of Free products that includes a Word Processor (Writer), Spreadsheet (similar to Excel), Database (Similar to Access), Presentation program (similar to Powerpoint)
Hyperlinks are links that refer to an external resource such as a Web URL or could refer a document that resides on a separate resource or even within the same document. Hyperlinks can be placed in any document format such as a HTML, Writer, Word, Excel, PDF etc. This article explains the steps for creating Hyperlinks to navigate within a 'Writer' document. Let us assume for this example that you wish to place an FAQ section within a 'Writer' document. Let us name these sections A,B, and C respectively. The objective is for the 'User' to click 'A' hyperlink and be directed to answers relating to 'A' and if the user clicks 'B', to be directed to 'B' section answers and so on. The FAQ section will look something like this in the Writer document: FAQ (1) A (2) B (3) C
ANSWERS (1) This is answer for section A (2) This is answer for section B (3) This is answer for section C
Steps
First part of the process is complete. Now let us place an hyperlink for the related question.
Click the Hyperlink in the FAQ section (as per this example) and watch the result! {mxc}Â

And what about insert hiperlinks when inserting table of contents? I can't do that. Are there some other ways to do it? If I try to insert one by one link and make a TOC, it will become a very boring task. I was looking for an automatic way to do that. Would somebody know how to do that?
