Select Browse Object is a feature in Word that allows one to browse by objects. The list of objects is the following: Field, Endnote, Footnote, Comment, Section, Page, Goto, Find, Edits, Heading, Graphic, and Table.
For example, if there are several footnotes in the document, the ‘Select Browse Objects’ feature will help navigate to the footnotes one at a time for you to review and make changes as required.
The top and bottom arrows are positioned on either side of the ‘Select Browse Object’ icon
The item selected will be available as the browsing object until a different selection is made or until the document is closed. When the document is closed and reopened, it reverts to the default (Browse by Page)
Keep the document open and .open a new word document. Note that the same default selection is applied to the new document as well.
