File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client is used to transfer files between your PC and a Server or vice versa. If your FTP Server has been setup to allow anonymous login, users can login without any credentials supplied. If anonymous login is not allowed, users will be required to enter a username and password. For security reasons, it might be a good practice to login using a username/password and also restrict the directories one can access. There are several commercial FTP clients available as well as Open Source applications.
Open Source FTP Client Both commercial and free versions of FTP clients are available. A good Open Source FTP client is File Zilla. The following are the steps for installing and using FileZilla FTP client.
How to use FileZilla after installation?
FileZilla has detailed documentation with screen-shots on using FileZilla. After install, open FileZilla and select Help > Contents from the menu to access the documentation. You can also access FileZilla Documentation
