gFTP is a graphical client for Linux systems. How to get gFTP? Check your Linux Distribution as it may be a part of it. If not, you can download it from gFTP website.
Usage - gFTP can be accessed from the Linux Desktop menu or from the command line interface by entering gftp & gFTP graphical interface window appears displaying files in your local system.
 - Enter the host name to connect in the Host field.
- Enter the Port number to connect.If you are not sure, leave it blank.
- Enter the FTP user in the User field.
- Enter the password in the Pass field and press key to connect. Note that the files in the remote server are displayed. The interface is similar to Windows Explorer and you can transfer files from the local to the remote server and vice versa by selecting the files and clicking the right and left arrows.
- Remote pull down menu allows you to perform certain actions such as changing file permissions (chmod), rename, delete, view, edit, disconnect from remote server etc. You can also right-click on a file and perform the same.
- Bookmarks menu allows you to Bookmark FTP sites for easy access.
- Define file transfer options by selecting FTP > Options from the menu. You can define options such as the program to view and edit files, file permissions, overwriting options, ASCII mode transfer, proxy parameters etc.
